Peter J Russo, Esq and Diego on ABC LIVE!

Past fundraisers

Who is Diego?

"Diego" is Cumberland County's emotional support dog that protects and serves witnesses in Cumberland County Courthouse.

Cumberland County Bar Foundation's robust fundraising efforts made the dream of a courthouse have an emotional support dog for when witnesses, including children, were faced with increased anxieties over providing testimony a reality.

The black labrador was acquired a few years ago when the organization made this investment from Susquehanna Service Dogs.

Diego is a beloved hero that can be counted on to not only provide a calming effect to children that have been abused or neglected but provide a welcomed distraction and a smile to the face of our youth that has faced unimaginable circumstances.
The dream of having a service dog in the courthouse was made possible when a few attorneys gathered together with the idea of providing a good quality event for the public out of need to have a quality event in the area and a need to fulfill the financial goals required to obtain a dog of Diego's caliber.

Diego was the mascot behind Cumberland County Bar Foundation's fundraising efforts for several years.

Diego fundraisers and the mission surpassed what was dreamed of when the committee started planning just a few years ago. Unfortunately, 2022 was the last Diego's Tail Gate.
